Classic Car Shows

Classic car shows are fun to shoot.  The details are wonderful: graceful curves, bright shiny chrome accents, lights and grilles, cool fenders, and then all that interior stuff.  We love our cars.  This shot is from the “wings and wheels” show.  I find added interest from the reflection of sky and people in the highly polished black finish.

Family Ties

My parents passed away many years ago.  I still have “stuff” in the garage that belonged to them.  Just hard to let some things go, particularly those which trigger good memories.  This shot is a closeup of Dad’s tackle box.  The lure on the left was his favorite, a yellow feather.  He would rig it up with a double hook and a strip of mullet.  A variety of Florida Keys reef fish would strike this lure including grouper and barracuda.

More On The Music Scene

This shot was taken at the European Street Cafe.  They are doing a great job of promoting music at their Jacksonville restaurants.  This night featured J. B. Scott’s Swinging Allstars.

Music, Music, Music

Jacksonville has a pretty good music scene and I get opportunities to photograph at various venues.  This image was shot during a break in a recording session.  The base fiddle was on the floor and the color in the background came from the carpet.  I painted the image in Corel using one of the artist brushes.

My Road to Photography

This is how it all started for me.  Vacation photos in the days of all film.  I would take 10-20 rolls, have them developed at Walgreens, and then put them into my favorite albums - Hallmarks beautiful post bound albums.  Of course I still have all of these but now my photography is about digital cameras and digital storage.  I still love those Hallmark albums though and now and then will sit down with one and page through those vacation memories.
